Alien vs. Predator vs. New Trailer

It's an idea born from the sci-fi ramblings of fanboys: If an Alien and a Predator engaged in a full-on grudge match, which species would win? This decades-long debate will come to a head this summer when "Alien vs. Predator" premieres.

In anticipation of the smackdown, Fox has released a new full-length trailer (Quicktime required). The trailer is standard action fare: greedy human "explorers" step into the lion's den -- well, alien's den I guess -- then spend two hours running through dank corridors while snarling creatures with pointy teeth and sharp sticks pick them off one by one.

But don't cast this one aside just yet. When the snarling creatures in question are Aliens and Predators -- and those creatures take turns kicking the crap out of one another -- the film becomes far more interesting than your typical alien-horror bloodbath. Toss in the fact that it's set in the present day -- making it a prequel of sorts to the "Alien" movies -- and you've got the ingredients for a guilty pleasure ... or a cinematic turd. We'll find out August 13 when "Alien vs. Predator" is released.
