Rachel Weisz Jumps into The Fountain

"The Fountain" is flowing again for director Darren Aronofsky ("Requiem for a Dream"). After watching his sci-fi drama fall to pieces in 2002 with the departure of star Brad Pitt, Aronofsky has slowly rebuilt the project. Hugh Jackman jumped into Pitt's vacated role in February of this year and now The Hollywood Reporter says Rachel Weisz has signed on as co-star.

The plot of "The Fountain" is murky, but the Reporter says it has something to do with a man's journey through the past, present and future. It also deals with love, death and immortality. Given these parameters, the story could very well focus on everything that ever happened in the history of history.

Production on "The Fountain" is (finally) scheduled to begin in November. -- Mac Slocum
