Sneaky King Kong Poster Surfaces

Peter Jackson's "King Kong" is more than a year from release (December 2005), but in this world of irrational fanboy exuberance it's never too early to rile up the audience with a little tease. And that's exactly why CHUD is showing off a new "King Kong" poster.

But here's the problem: CHUD says there's debate about the poster's veracity. The site's source (an emailer named "Big Bryson") says the poster showed up at a film exhibitor's conference in Australia. Dark Horizons has a similar story (co-credited to the omnipresent "Big Bryson" -- who is this guy?), but Dark Horizons points out that the "Kong" poster is concept art, which means that what you see now is not necesarily what you'll get later.

Real or not, the poster has stirred up "Kong" interest way before the film's release. Somewhere, Peter Jackson is cackling with glee as he Photoshops new "posters" ...
