Freddy and Jason Meet the Boom Stick

The Hollywood Reporter has interesting news on a percolating project. New Line Cinema is negotiating with Sam Raimi to develop "Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash."

Who's Ash? Here's a hint: "Lady, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to ask you to leave the store."

Yup, it's the Ash from "Evil Dead" and "Army of Darkness." Better still, if the New Line deal materializes, Bruce Campbell will return as Ash for a throwdown with the classic horror characters. My money goes on the chainsaw-wielding smartass.

Unfortunately, "Evil Dead" director Sam Raimi won't helm "Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash," but the prospect of Bruce Campbell delivering classic quips is more than enough to justify excitement. -- Mac Slocum
