When a movie grosses more than $360 million over the summer, you just know the DVD will miraculously appear in time for the holiday buying season. Such is the case with "Spider-Man 2," which Columbia TriStar will release on Nov. 30.
Spider-Man Hype says a variety of "Spider-Man 2" DVDs will be available, including:
A two-disc set in widescreen and fullscreen versions. This set includes cast commentaries, a documentary and a featurette on the film's climactic pier scene.
A bundled "Spider-Man" and "Spider-Man 2" set in wide and fullscreen versions.
A Superbit version of "Spider-Man 2." (Superbit jacks up the bit-rate for better picture and sound quality.)
A "Spider-Man 2" gift set featuring a widescreen version of the movie, "Spider-Man 2" artwork, a 25-page comic book portfolio, and a reprint of the "Spider-Man" #50 comic book in which Peter Parker decides to leave his Spidey days behind.
Columbia did not release pricing information, but an article from USA Today says the 2-disc set will retail for $29.96 (note: that "6" could be a typo) and the gift set will sell for $49.95.
