Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash Not Happening

Sam Raimi has squashed reports that his "Evil Dead" hero Ash would take on horror icons Freddy and Jason in "Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash."

Raimi tells Latino Review he was uncomfortable putting Ash into the Freddy-Jason universe.

"I didn't want to be in a position where I was protecting Ash, the character that I want to eventually make another movie with one day, protecting him and not allowing the director to do what he felt he had to do," Raimi says. "I didn't want to be in a weird position like that."

As you probably guessed, Raimi did not sign on to direct "Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash."

Despite this project's seeming demise, we'll be keeping an eye on it through our spotlight page. -- Mac Slocum
