And now another Lecter sequel is in the works. Great.
Reuters says Lecter creator Thomas Harris is working on "Behind the Mask," the fourth Lecter novel. Film rights have already been scooped up by The Dino De Laurentiis Company, the same production firm behind the "Red Dragon" and "Hannibal" adaptations.
So what's this new Lecter book about? "Millions of readers in 25 languages have wondered how Dr. Lecter developed his particular appetite for evil," said Richard Cable, managing director of the Random House Division at The Random House Group. "This novel will satisfy their curiosity."
Translation: "We're not really sure what it's about, but it's gonna sell a ton of copies. Thank you."
"Behind the Mask" will be released in hardcover in late 2005. Details on the film have not been released. -- Mac Slocum
