It's been a long time since I last wrote about the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" movie. In the ensuing years (yes, years; my last post was in 2001), directors have changed, producers have changed, writers have changed. Clearly, my laziness knows no bounds.
But I'm here to atone -- sorta. The "Hitchhiker's" movie has become a reality (which is a bit of a miracle considering how long this bugger was in development) and we can now gaze upon genuine "Hitchhiker's" movie paraphernalia through Yahoo Movies. Yahoo has posted a teaser trailer (my one-second review: "it's kinda eh") and some far more interesting production designs and the movie poster
Fans of the book series will enjoy the film's official site, which revels in the same Pythonesque humor found in the novels.
And finally, if you'd like to visit a site that has done a far better job chronicling this project, I suggesting consulting Douglas Adams Continuum. In addition to marking the film's many high and low points, the site also features some lovely -- and exclusive -- production stills.
"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" will be released May 5, 2005. I'll be posting further developments on our "Hitchhiker's" spotlight page. Really. -- Mac Slocum
