Hanks Signs on for Da Vinci Code

The Hollywood Reporter says Tom Hanks has officially signed on to star in "The Da Vinci Code." The film, to be directed by Ron Howard, will be released May 19, 2006. Production will begin next year.

"Da Vinci" marks the third collaboration between Hanks and Howard. The pair teamed for 1984's "Splash" and 1995's "Apollo 13."
