Audrey Tautou Tapped for Da Vinci Code

Audrey Tautou ("Amelie") has landed a starring role opposite Tom Hanks in "The Da Vinci Code," reports AFP.

Tautou will play Sophie Neveu, a French cryptographer who teams with "Da Vinci" protagonist Robert Langdon (Hanks) to crack tricky codes while searching for her grandfather's killer.

Julie Delpy, Kate Beckinsale, Vanessa Pardis and Juliette Binoche had all previously been mentioned for the Neveu role. How Tautou beat them is unknown, but it may have been the work of a secret goddess-worshipping group. Remember, I said may.
