Warner Picks Up Strangers With Candy Movie

"Strangers with Candy" has found a home at Warner Independent Pictures. The Hollywood Reporter says the TV-show-turned-movie has been picked up by Warner at the ongoing Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

The original Comedy Central show followed ex-con Jerri Blank (Amy Sedaris), who returns to high school after spending 32 years in prison. The film is a prequel to the TV series, picking up with Blank's release from jail.

A release date hasn't been set. -- Mac Slocum
