According to Moviehole, "Ocean's 11" star George Clooney has acquired the rights to another Rat Pack flick, "Robin and the 7 Hoods."
The 1964 original, starring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Bing Crosby and Peter Falk, followed heart-of-gold gangsters as they challenged a criminal big boss in Prohibition-era Chicago. Along the way, the underworld do-gooders sing and dance at opportune moments.
Moviehole says the new version will be updated and, more importantly, Clooney may already have enlisted the services of his "Ocean's" cohorts Brad Pitt and Matt Damon.
Additional production details haven't been released, and they may never be released because this project is in the rumor stage. If it proves to be true, we'll be monitoring future developments on our spotlight page. -- Mac Slocum
