Alexander the Great Poised for Big Screen Return

Producer Dino De Laurentiis tells Screen Daily that his delayed Alexander the Great biopic (yes, another one) will be reignited.

"We will shoot the film in one year's time, and it will be the Alexander that everyone has been waiting for," De Laurentiis says. The film, which was put on hold last year, will star Leonardo DiCaprio and Nicole Kidman. "Moulin Rouge" director Baz Luhrmann will oversee the epic.

Initially it looked as though Oliver Stone's "Alexander" would kill De Laurentiis' production, but Stone's film was critically panned and, even worse, ignored by moviegoers.
