Keri Russell Signs on for Cannibal Flick

Felicity wouldn't approve of this one. The Hollywood Reporter says Keri Russell will star in "Butterfly, a Grimm Love Story." So far it sounds pretty normal, right? Well consider this: The movie focuses on the Internet-based cannibal movement.

Cannibalism came into the spotlight a year ago when Armin Meiwes, a German man, was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison for dismembering and eating Bernd Juergen Brandes. Meiwes had advertised online for a cannibal volunteer and Brandes willingly answered the call.

The Reporter says "Butterfly" is a "horror-thriller," which means the cannibalism hook will likely be used for dramatic -- rather than romantic -- effect. Actor Thomas Kretschmann (the upcoming "King Kong") is in negotiations to co-star and music video helmer Martin Weisz will direct. -- Mac Slocum
