Chris Carter Clarifies Status of X-Files 2

For months we've been bombarded by tidbits of erroneous "X-Files 2" information: there's a script, there isn't a script, it's shooting this year, it's not shooting this year, Mulder and Scully are married with three kids, Mulder and Scully are separately vacationing at singles resorts, etc., etc., etc.

Fortunately, DVD Empire cornered "X-Files" creator Chris Carter for a clarifying interview. Alas, Carter only offers two clarifications, but here they are nonetheless:

Clarification 1: The status of "X-Files 2"

Carter: "It's currently in negotiations, and things are looking positive."

Clarification 2: Is there a script?

Carter: "There's not a script, but Frank Spotnitz and I have worked out a story. Actually, we did that quite a while ago."

So as it stands, "X-Files 2" is still far, far away. For more "X-Files" news visit our spotlight page. -- Mac Slocum
