I offer these numbers because you're undoubtedly wondering why, in the name of all that is right and proper, would anyone greenlight "Garfield 2." The answer is easy: It's all about the cash, people.
According to Variety, "Garfield 2" will be directed by Tim Hill ("Muppets from Space"). Cast members haven't been announced, but original "Garfield" stars Breckin Meyer and Jennifer Love Hewitt aren't exactly lighting up Hollywood these days, so their return wouldn't be a surprise. The bigger question is: Will Bill Murray once again voice the computer-created Garfield?
Wait. I just remembered something. No one cares.
"Garfield 2" is scheduled to open July 28, 2006. Try to contain your enthusiasm. -- Mac Slocum
