BlackFilm says Blair Underwood ("LAX") will star in "Madea's Family Reunion." The film is a follow-up to "Diary of a Mad Black Woman," one of 2005's biggest surprises.
"Diary" vaulted writer/star Tyler Perry (right, as Madea) onto the A-list, and Perry is using his newfound clout to bring "Madea's Family Reunion" to the screen. Based on Perry's play, "Madea's" follows a gun-toting senior citizen (Perry) as she tries to juggle a funeral, a family reunion and a wedding all on the same weekend.
"Madea's Family Reunion" is scheduled for release in February 2006. -- Mac Slocum
