The original '70s TV series focused on Rick Marshall and his two children. After getting sucked into a time vortex, the trio is plopped in a prehistoric world where dinosaurs and horrific special effects lie around every turn.
Proving that the filmmakers understand the camp qualities of the series, the film adaptation will be a comedy. Thank God for that -- the last thing anyone needs is a self-serious update of a kitsch TV show (I'm looking at you "Lost in Space").
Ferrell will reteam with his "Anchorman" director Adam McKay on "Land of the Lost." A production schedule and release date have not been announced. -- Mac Slocum
