Linklater Takes on Fast Food Nation

Fast Food Nation Prepare to never eat fast food again. Variety says Richard Linklater ("Before Sunset," "Dazed and Confused") will direct "Fast Food Nation."

The film will be based on Eric Schlosser's non-fiction book, which examines the fast food industry from a variety of angles: business, cultural, even global. The book doesn't really have a narrative, so Linklater faces a challenge in turning this broad-based expose into a cohesive film.

Oscar-nominated actress Catalina Sandino Moreno ("Maria Full of Grace") will star. Filming is scheduled to begin this fall.
