The Hollywood Reporter says Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett have joined director David Fincher's adaptation of "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."
Based on an F. Scott Fitzgerald short story, "Benjamin Button" follows an old man who begins to get younger (kind of like Jonathan Winters on "Mork & Mindy"). Things get difficult when a 50-year-old Button meets the love of his life, 30-year-old Hildegarde Moncrief. The two are sliding down the Age Hill in different directions, so "growing old together" is pretty much out of the question.
A production schedule for "Benjamin Button" hasn't been announced, which is probably because Pitt, Blanchett and Fincher all have full plates. The Reporter says Pitt and Blanchett are signed to co-star in another film, "Babel," and Fincher will begin filming "Zodiac" this summer. -- Mac Slocum
