You can stop laughing. I'm not making this up.
According to the Reporter, the plot focuses on a man who has drifted from his old social circle. When one of his former cronies commits a double-murder suicide, the protagonist is driven to investigate (seriously -- who would do this?). Ultimately, an evil force with a penchant for tract housing is deemed the culprit. The force's wicked ways come to an abrupt halt when it encounters a custom made Victorian with a lovely wrap-around porch and a water view (just a guess).
Warners bought the script from Eric Heisserer, who besides finding evil in tract housing also appears to be very Web savvy. An accompanying Web site built by Heisserer hints at "Dionaea House's" background through a series of mysterious emails sent between the film's main character and a friend. The Reporter says the site has generated decent traffic, so it'll be interesting to see if "Dionaea House" can turn Web popularity into box office receipts.
