Stop or My Gothic Horror Writer Will Shoot

Rocky. Edgar Allan Poe. Oh yeah, this makes perfect sense.

Variety says Sylvester Stallone plans to direct a biopic of renowned horror author Edgar Allan Poe. Even better, Stallone will direct from a script he wrote.

Production on the film is slated to begin in Europe this fall. Variety says Stallone is eyeing Robert Downey Jr. for the starring role.

Laugh all you want, but Stallone's Poe biopic has already eclipsed a similar production: Michael Jackson's "The Nightmare of Edgar Allan Poe." Thankfully, Jackson's project has never gotten off the ground. Pray it never does. -- Mac Slocum
