Day of the Dead Remake in Development

Zombie love continues to run rampant. Variety says a remake of 1985's "Day of the Dead" is being prepped. This comes on the heels of last year's sleeper hit (and remake) "Dawn of the Dead."

The original "Day of the Dead" was itself a sequel to George Romero's "Night of the Living Dead" (1968) and the first "Dawn of the Dead" (1978). Further complicating matters is Romero's new zombie flick, "Land of the Dead," which is premiering in June. "Land" is not a remake; it's a sequel to the original "Dead" films.

Release dates for the "Day of the Dead" remake (wait, which one was that?) have not been announced. -- Mac Slocum
