"Pitch Black" director David Twohy didn't plan on joining the "Italian Job" franchise. It just sort of happened.
Twohy tells Variety that his original heist film "The Wrecking Crew" had nothing to do with "The Italian Job." But a pitch session with Paramount got wheels turning, and "Wrecking Crew" soon became "The Brazilian Job" -- the follow-up to 2003's hit "Italian Job" remake.
Variety says the entire "Italian Job" cast is expected to reunite in Rio de Janeiro for "Brazilian," including director F. Gary Gray.
