News reports about the next James Bond are now brewing with spy-like mystery. The Times of London, citing no sources but sounding quite definitive nonetheless, says Hugh Jackman declined an offer to be the next Bond.
Faced with few clear facts, both The Times and Australia's The Age fill column space with conjecture about Jackman's motivations. These include: Jackman rejected the deal because of time constraints; Jackman was concerned about typecasting; and finally, a conversation between Jackman and his wife (the details of the conversation are unknown, mind you), led to a Bond nixing.
Whatever the reason, it appears that Hugh Jackman will not play James Bond ... for now.
