Topher Grace plays Venom

Freeze Dried Movies is reporting that Topher Grace will be playing Venom in the third installment of the Sam Raimi helmed Spiderman franchise. They're citing anonymous sources, but they stand by the report.

At first glance it seems an offbeat choice for the archvillian Venom. However, the choice of Tobey Maguire raised a few eyebrows among the fanboy community when he was tapped to play the Peter Parker/Spiderman role. Roles in "Traffic" and "In Good Company" show that the 26 year old can expand past his role as Eric on "That '70's Show."

Whatever your opinion on the choice, you have to admit it could be worse... It could have been Ashton Kutcher. -- Terrence Ryan
