I Am Legend - Reality?

"I Am Legend" is being fast tracked to production, according to Francis Lawrence ("Constantine") is set to direct. It's got some big names behind the production, including Akiva Goldsman writer of "A Beautiful Mind" and "I, Robot" producer of "Constantine." The basic premise is that one normal human man lives besieged among a population of hostile mutants. This will mark the third time the property will come to screen, having been adapted before as "The Last Man on Earth" with Vincent Price and Charlton Heston as "The Omega Man."

This is not the first time that the third adaptation has been pitched. Back in 1997, the plug was pulled on "I Am Legend" which was to star Arnold Schwarzenegger. So watch this one with a healthy dose of skepticism. However, considering that Schwarzenegger derailed the 90's project with his financial demands, and that there is no mention of him in the current information about the project, it might be more hopeful. --Terrence Ryan
