Steve Carell Rolling in the Work

2005_steve_carell.jpg and The Hollywood Reporter report that Steve Carell is slated to appear in "Dan in Real Life" an upcoming picture from the director of "Pieces of April," Peter Hedges. It a story about a widowed father of three girls who writes a parenting column for a newspaper. He falls for his brother's girlfriend, bringing his rules for behavior into conflict with what he wishes to do.... in real life.

This is, of course, after he completes the sequel to "Bruce Almighty," "Evan Almighty." His IMDB listing reports that he lined up for the film adaptation of "Get Smart," and "Little Miss Sunshinie" a film about beauty pageant stage parents. Finally, he is still committed to the NBC series "The Office." The struggling network will probably fight any attempt to lure him away, lest risking one of the even remotely successful properties.

So there you have it, with that many screen appearances lined up, Steve Carell is the new Ben Stiller. --Terrence Ryan
