I think its absolutly unfair that only UK reidence can audition I really want to play this part. Just as much as anyone else would. But then for them to say only UK resients makes it really unfair. Its really heart breaking for someone like me. To be told that you can't do something is aways heartbreaking but to tell someone they can't do something because of who they are and where they come from is completly and outraously unfair. If I could afford to get on plane and go to England I would But even if I did Would i make a differnce? If I could have the most perfect accent for it would it make a differnece? No you have to be born in England. Its completly unfair.
American movies have never told anyone they couldn 't adition no matter where they came from or who they are. All I want is to be in this particular movie as Luna Lovgood. But no oncegian my dreams are crashed and now made impossible. Its tuly unfair!

They are now choosing from a shortlist of five hopefuls.

"We've narrowed it down to a handful of people for Luna," he said. "I haven't seen them though. [Director] David Yates has been doing the casting."

It's believed that following on from the school search along with applications sent in to the studios, there have been a number of casting sessions and workshops in London with girls being considered for the part.

David Heyman also confirmed that they had specific people in mind for other parts in the movie. Imelda Staunton is at the "forefront of the search" for someone to play Professor Umbridge.

And two actors are in talks to play Kingsley Shacklebolt and Tonks.

Anna Friel, the partner of Lupin actor David Thewlis, has been rumoured to be in line for the role of Tonks, but David Heyman said that she definitely wasn't being considered for the part.

Filming on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will begin in February 2006.

Im sure your not ugly hunni, most people think they are ugly, or at least dont like certain parts of their bodies! But beleive me, just because you, yourself, doesnt see your pretty side, doesnt mean other people dont. You would have had just as much chance of getting the part of Luna, than anyone else has, if you had found out about them, earlier. Producer David Heyman told CBBC Newsround Online that the search was nearly over.

They are now choosing from a shortlist of five hopefuls.

"We've narrowed it down to a handful of people for Luna," he said. "I haven't seen them though. [Director] David Yates has been doing the casting."

I really really really really want to be luna im 13 ive acted in two plays oliver twist and the night before christmas i have long blonde hair ive read all the books im worrd just like her so i could relate i can rememberlines like there already in my mind and im not joking i could sing a song off the top of my head without looking at the lyrics once just hesring the song about 2-3 times i love harry potter my friends think im nuts that i could never make it as luna especially my parents but they said if by one in a million chance i do what the heck sure. ive also been in talent shows and something involving me to read on tv for my school, so im not stage fright. i also went somewhere that let me act and the teacher said that i was the best in the class when we hjad to actout certain emotions.

i don't think ne1 who sent off got a reply, they probably only look at them if they can't get ne1 from any of the stage schools, i think they should do open castings, it's fairer and probably less time consuming.

Oh my god, hey guys. I auditioned for Luna lovegood like ages ago, it was ridiculous, we waited in the queue for 5 whole hours and there were miles of queues in London. It was completly quaos. I was on telly though! The man of the news came and we were running down the road because we thought we were like really cool lol. Then i didn't get the part and i was really upset, i was only little. Mum bought me a massive box of icecream because i was well upset. This indian man served me and he wass really nasty to me. I remember that day like it was yesterday! Good luck to the person who got Luna lovegood, i envy you hahhhhh!! Plus when i did that last comment, i just started my period. Thought i would let you know that, i was just looking at the data and like sorta remembered. O well. Anyway, see you soon babes because i will be in one of the massivemusicals. Haha yes my asss.

I wanted this part so much, it is so devasting that i just didn't get it. I wernt on and they just said NEXT. They looked at me with such disgust! I looked like a right scruff bag though, i wasn't wearing the correct clothing. I just can't stop crying. I only wnatwed the part, what more could they want? All i wanted to do was to support my family :( xx
