Roland Emmerich to Direct 10,000 BC

The Hollywood Reporter has it that German born director Roland Emmerich ("Stargate," "The Day After Tomorrow") has been signed to direct "10,000 BC." The project comes from an script that Emmerich and Harald Kloser penned together about 10 years ago. Kloser appears to be the composer for such films as "AVP: Alien vs. Predator" and "The Day After Tomorrow." Despite his name on the original script, the screenwriter for the current incarnation of the project is John Orloff ("Band of Brothers.") There is no word on casting as of yet, but production is set to start next year. - Terrence Ryan
