Hathaway on the Horizon

Anne Hathaway Empire has a piece on Anne Hathaway taking on the role of Jane Austen in the upcoming "Becoming Jane." It's not a straight biography, instead it riffs on a period of her life, and is based on a book by Claire Tomlin. The book among other things, suggests a heretofore unknown Irish lover for Miss Austen.

This is a great opportunity for the young Miss Hathaway, who is poised to breakout a little bigger next year. In addition to the Austen film, she is also staring with Meryl Streep in "The Devil Wears Prada." The two films are a good combo to steer Hathaway from teen-focused flicks to mainstream adult-focused films. If all goes well in 2007 expect her to show up in big action flick as the love interest and marry an older Scientologist. --Terrence Ryan
