Sandler and Cheadle to Make 9/11 Film

Adam Sandler has a short blurb about a new project. Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle will make a film about 9/11. The film will focus on the aftermath for a man who lost his family in the attacks, played by Sandler. Cheadle will play a doctor and college friend of the Sandler character.

This marks a bit of a zag for Sandler, who keeps dipping his toes into the dramatic pool with such films as "Punch Drunk Love" and "Spanglish." Without knowing more about the project, it's hard to say if it will be a mainstream picture or not, but the inclusion of Cheadle leads me to believe it will be. This could be a great opportunity for Sandler to be serious in front of a wider audience. --Terrence Ryan
