Rush Hour 3 Is On reports that Rush Hour 3 has been greenlit and is moving on a fast track. The details of the deal are impressive. Chris Tucker gets $20 million and a second picture deal at the same rate. Jackie Chan gets $15 million and the Chinese and Hong Kong film rights. The director, Brett Ratner, gets an increase on the up front portion of the $5 million he got for Rush Hour 2. Finally the screenwriter will get over $1 million.

At first glance, this seems extreme. However when you look at the numbers for Rush Hour 2, over $550 million domestic and worldwide, it becomes apparent that everyone involved is looking for a huge payoff.

Production begins in summer 2006 with release slated for summer 2007. --Terrence Ryan
