Reno 911 Movie

Hollywood Reporter has it that "Reno 911" is coming to the big screen. This isn't a dumb remake of a TV show, though, it's more like the whole "X Files" movie, a chance to gain visibility for TV show with a small but rabid fan base. Like the show it will be scripted broadly, with the majority of content being improvised around the general plot. The general plot is that the team encounter trouble at a police convention, and they try and save the day.

This is very exciting. The team behind "Reno 911" comprise about half of team behind "The State," a sketch comedy show on MTV during the early 90's. (If you've never seen an episode, try and find them on Google, they are very worth it.) They've been kicking around getting bit parts here and there, but they really are best when they come together and are in complete control. This will hopefully give them a lot of exposure. --Terrence Ryan
