Truth in Trailers

St. Louis Today has an interesting piece about trailers today. It's a really well rounded piece that asks the question that consumers ask: "Why do trailers fail to accurately portray the films they advertise?" It gets a decent answer from the people that make these trailers: "Because the movies suck."

The answers are a bit more complicated than that, but not that much more. It also has an interesting note about directors and movie trailers. I would sum up some more, but I really think you should check it out.

However I too thought the line "but trai-liars might be closer to the mark" was a bit too much. --Terrence Ryan
