Opie Spawn Meets Spiderman

Bryce Howard Coming Soon has it that Bryce Howard has signed on to play Gwen Stacy in the "Spiderman 3." Howard is the daughter of Ron Howard, and has taken on big roles for M. Night Shaymalan ("The Village" and "Lady in the Water.") They got it from Ain't It Cool, which said it was signed today.

She is also playing Grace in Lars von Trier's Manderlay, the second entry in Trier's "Land of Opporunities" trilogy, due out later this month in NY and LA. Grace was first played by Nicole Kidman in the previous installment, Dogville. Ms. Howard is superb in the role, equal to Ms. Kidman's performance. But Dogville remains the better film.
