Russell Joins Cast of August Rush

Kerri Russell Coming Soon is reporting that Keri Russell is joining the cast of "August Rush." The film tells the story of musical child prodigy named August Rush. Russell will play August's mother. Also in the cast, is Jonathan Rhys Meyers ("Bend it Like Beckham").

This marks the fourth project with a projected date in 2006 for Miss Russell. The others are "Waitress," "Mission: Impossible III," and "Butterfly, a Grimm Love Story." 2006 could mark a resurgence for the young actress whose acting gigs have been sporadic since the exposure she got from her title role on "Felicity" wore off. --Terrence Ryan
