Coming Soon has a blurb that screenwriter Mike White is set to direct his first film, "Year of the Dog." White wrote "School of Rock" and "The Good Girl." He also works often with Jack Black, who starred in "School of Rock" and "Orange County" also by White.
This is another great story of a writer who worked his way up the chain. He started out writing for "Dawson's Creek," and "Freaks and Geeks." He then moved to feature length comedies, and now he's directing. It warms the heart of every aspiring screenwriter... well okay it fills it it with raging jealousy, but you still can be happy for the guy.
