Tales of Star Trek's Demise

IfMagazine has a blurb that seems to indicate that Star Trek may be finished as a property. It indicates that Patrick Stewart would need a much larger paycheck to be involved with any further project. Now that he gets the buckets of money he gets for the X-men films, opportunity cost does have to be factored in. Additionally, on the smaller screen the prospects for a new Star Trek series are grim.

My bet is that there will be an extended hiatus. However, I doubt there will never me another Star Trek project. A good long break might give the well time to refill. --Terrence Ryan
