Both Vnunet and PC Pro News are reporting the Apple ITunes news reported here last night. The 487Mb movie is now available in the US. The price has changed from $1.99 to $9.99 though. According to Vnunet that price is a bit high for a few members of the ITunes community.
I have to agree that $9.99 is not a really great value for a movie, although I'm unconvinced that it is the outrageous price that others seem to be claiming it to be. The average price of a DVD, at least here in the US, is above the $9.99 price point, especially for new releases. However downloads of the same settings are of lesser quality, and don't have extra features. I still don't think the pluses and minuses add up, but it's not far off. Ultimately consumers will decide.
