The Hollywood Reporter has a piece about an upcoming film featuring former "Saturday Night Live" player, Molly Shannon. The film, "Year of the Dog," will star Shannon in the lead, and will be directed by Mike White (writer of "School of Rock" and "The Good Girl.") White, and the host of cameos he is expected to draw could turn this into a great vehicle for Shannon. Especially since White claims the role was written with Shannon in mind.
I have to admit, I've always felt that Shannon's role choices have not lived up to her talent. Even on SNL, she seemed to always get noticed for her big obnoxious characters, instead of her more subdued interesting characters. Hopefully, this will properly highlight her talent. --Terrence Ryan
