Popular name on IMDb. Found a website for a John Cox who claims to be a screenwriter. Here's his intro:

Hello all. My name is JOHN COX. I'm a professional screenwriter and madman. I've written projects for DreamWorks, MGM, Warner Bros., ABC, the USA Network, and more. I'm a graduate of the USC School of Cinema-Television. Some of you may know me as "zencat," my not-so-secret cover name on the net. Here you can check out my credits, link to my web articles, and find out what I'm doing next.
