IFMagazine is reporting that Wolfgang Petersen ("Poseiden") would like to bring a Superman vs Batman story to the big screen. He enjoys the contrast of the two hero's personality, particularly the boy scout of Superman versus the street fighter of Batman. No word on anything close to something resembling reality on this one, but it is being talked about.
In my opinion this story cannot be made viable outside of a comic fanbase that fully understands and appreciates the two heros. Any movie attempting to do so would be too superficial or gimmicky to be worth ruining the image of these two heros that are only now becoming respectable as film subjects again. In short, Wolfgang, you have a better shot of making an good "Airforce One 2," that of making a good movie out of this. --Terrence Ryan
I agree with Rence and djjoeycool. This idea is as feasible as a Broadway musical version of "The Matrix". Though I have to admit the idea of the Hugo Weaving and Keanu Reeves fighting a la West Side story is intriguing... hmmm...

If the Vatican can boicot Da Vinci I propose a de facto boicot to this stupid idea. No way to do that in a mainstream movie of 120 minutes long.
