The early box-office success of "The Da Vinci Code" has Sony executives giddy with sequel anticipation. According to Times Online, the studio is hoping to adapt another Dan Brown novel, "Angels and Demons.".
"We are very interested in filming 'Angels and Demons,'" says Jeff Blake, vice-chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment. "We hope that the relationship with Dan Brown will be a long one. That could be the next project."
"Angels and Demons" follows "Da Vinci" protagonist Robert Langdon as he battles a secret society and pursues a super-important McGuffin (sound familiar?). The book takes place before the "Da Vinci Code." Times Online says "Da Vinci" star Tom Hanks could reprise the Langdon role, but a firm deal has not been announced. -- Mac Slocum
