Variety says Terrence Howard ("Hustle and Flow") and Topher Grace ("In Good Company") are negotiating to star in "The Crusaders," an account of the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education case.
For those of you who slept through history class, the Brown v. Board of Education case cut "legal" segregation off at the knees. The Supreme Court ruled that "separate but equal" (a lame doctrine previously used to justify segregated schools) did not apply. As such, the court determined that "separate educational facilities are inherently unequal." You can catch up on all the details you missed in class at the Brown Foundation.
If deals go through, Howard will play Thurgood Marshall and Grace will take on the role of Jack Greenberg, the two attornies who teamed to bring the Brown case to court. Marshall later became a Supreme Court justice (which you already knew because you paid attention that day ... right?). -- Mac Slocum
