According to Variety, Hollywood veteran mega-stars Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman have signed on to take the lead in "The Bucket List."
Meanwhile, Rob Reiner is set to helm the film, which will reunite him with Nicholson - the two worked together on "A Few Good Men."
"The Bucket List" refers to a wish list that two terminally ill men try to fulfill before each kicks the bucket. After they break out of a cancer ward, they head off on a road trip with an itinerary that includes racing cars, eating giant plates of caviar and slinging poker chips in Monte Carlo.
Reiner apparently received the script (written by Justin Zackham) from the studio and then sent it to Freeman who signed on and suggested Nicholson as his co-star. Reiner called Nicholson who, despite passing on many projects of late, said yes to this one.
The studio is hoping for an October production start.
