Duchovny Finds "Things We Lost In The Fire"

David DuchovnyAccording to The Hollywood Reporter, David Duchovny has signed on to star opposite Hollywood heavy-hitters Halle Berry and Benicio Del Toro in the DreamWorks drama "Things We Lost in the Fire."

The story centers on a woman (Berry) whose husband (Duchovny) suddenly dies. The woman invites her husband's troubled best friend (Del Toro) to live with her family. As the friend turns his life around, he helps the grief-stricken family confront their loss. (Not to worry, Duchovny fans. He will appear in multiple flashbacks.)

Allan Loeb wrote the script and Dogme director Susanne Bier ("Open Hearts") will direct.

Sam Mendes ("American Beauty") and Sam Mercer ("Lady in the Water") are among the producers.

Duchovny will next appear in the ensemble comedy "Trust the Man" with Julianne Moore, "The TV Set" with Sigourney Weaver, "The Secret" with Lili Taylor, and will lend his voice to "Queer Duck: The Movie" with JM J. Bullock and Tim Curry.

He apparently also recently acquired the life rights of Linda Brewer, an Arkansas woman who provided for her family by hosting passion parties and selling sex toys out of her car throughout the Bible Belt. Duchovny will produce and his wife, Tea Leoni, is attached to star. -- Shannon Nolley
