Hermione, Weasley Returning to Hogwarts

Taking their cue from Daniel Radcliffe who earlier this month signed on for the final two Harry Potter films, both Emma Watson and Rupert Grint have contracted to fill out their roles for the remainder of the franchise. Watson plays Hermione Granger and Grint plays Ron Weasley--both the best friends of the titular character.

Though this seems like a no-brainer to finish the series with the actors that started, especially given the involvement of Radcliffe and the fact that it's simply possible, there has been speculation of late that Watson would not be returning to the role. At the news of her signing, however, she states: "I love [Hermione] too much and love what playing her has meant to me."

The suits at Warner Brothers are undoubtedly happy. When the film series began in 2001, author J.K. Rowling was stalled on the fifth book in the series and it seemed entirely possible that the young actors who started in the roles would eventually have to be replaced due to sheer passing time. But now the timeline of the stories and the timeline of the filming process will work out very will with the actor's true ages.

And not a moment too soon, given the more adult fare at least two of the actors have chosen of late. Radcliffe has been appearing nude on a London stage in "Equus" and Grint last year had a role in "Driving Lessons" as a young man who loses his virginity. Well, that's one way to Hufflepuff.

Thank you, Zodiac. I guess my reading glasses are not what they used to be. Meanwhile, next time remember to put your punctuation *inside* the quotation mark. (My incredibly offensive typo has been corrected.)
