Bill Murray going to the"City of Eden"

There is something new in the works for Chicago native Bill Murray. He is set to star in “City of Eden”, an adaptation based on the book by Jeanne DuPrau.

“Monster House” director Gil Kenan is slated to direct the film which will be produced by Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman. His co-stars, so far, are said to be Toby Jones and Saoirse Ronan.

All this comes according to Variety, which also says that the project will be filmed in Belfast and released sometime in October of 2008.

This is said to be one in a three part series of adaptations for Hank’s and Goetzman’s Playtone. The other titles they are adapting are “Charlie Wilson’s War” written by George Criel and “Where the Wild Things Are” written by Maurice Sendak. The latter being one of my favorite books growing up. Spike Jonze has just wrapped up filming on “Where the Wild Things Are”. Hmmm, wonder who wore Max's wolf outift.
