Ice Cube making a "Comeback"

Rapper-turned-actor Ice Cube is going to make a comeback in a film titled, well, “Comeback”. He has most recently been seen in “XXX State of the Union”. So, I suppose it is not so much a real comeback, but it made for a better opening line.

“Comeback” is based on a true story. It revolves around an ex-high school football star who encourages his young niece to become the first female quarterback in the Pop Warner tournament. For those of you, like me, that had no idea what Pop Warner is, I looked it up. They are a national youth football and cheerleading and is named after Glenn Scobey “Pop” Warner, an extraordinary college football coach from the late 1890's to the 1950's.

According to Variety, Nick Santora and Doug Atchison wrote and re-wrote the script respectively. Santora was so moved by the story of the first female quarterback, he rallied to get the rights to the story and brought it to Dimension.

The film is set for a November 26 start date. Sounds like a great story. No word on a release date yet.
